AN OVERWHELMING response of over 21,000 entries were received for the UEFA Euro 2016 ‘Guess the Semi-finalists’ contest organised by Brunei Press Sdn Bhd with its partners Setia Motors Sdn Bhd and Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd.
The contest, which began on June 10 and ended on June 24, gave readers of Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata a chance to win a Hyundai Creta 1.6 GLS Auto worth $28,000 (the grand prize), Hyundai goodie bags and food vouchers from McDonald’s amounting to $3,000 in total.
A draw for the winners of third, second and the finalists for the first prize and grand prize was carried out yesterday morning at the Commercial Printing Services building of Brunei Press by senior management of Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, Setia Motors Sdn Bhd and Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd.
On behalf of Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd, Human Resource Executive and Marketing Officer, Noor Hafilah binti Mohammad Salleh, along with Marketing Attachment, Liyana binti Azhar, selected the winning entries. Sales Manager of Setia Motors Sdn Bhd, Fadi Sulaiman and Graphics Designer (Marketing) of Setia Motors Sdn Bhd, Nazim @ Jay along with General Manager of Brunei Press, Reggie See and Senior Finance and Operations Manager, Suzie Houng, also took part in the draw.
Only 185 entries were able to guess the correct semi-finalists for the contest and answered the questions accurately from a total of more than 21,000 entries.
Fadi said, “We are really impressed with the number of entries this year and it’s also interesting to note that not many people managed to guess the semi-finalists.”
He also noted that the general manager for sales from Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarter of Hyundai was in the country during the month of Ramadhan and was impressed with the amount of publicity for the contest.
With a long-established partnership, the sales manager of Setia Motors also iterated that the company will continue to work together with Brunei Press in the future.
Meanwhile, Noor Hafilah added, “The response for this contest was overwhelming. With the success, we welcome future collaborations with Brunei Press.”
