A MEDIA delegation from Thailand received a warm greeting when they paid a special visit to Brunei Press Sdn Bhd in Beribi yesterday.
The delegation comprising five reporters who were accompanied by four officers from the Information Department is in the Sultanate to gain an understanding of journalism here.
A briefing was presented by the General Manager of Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, Reggie See to familiarise the visitors with the company’s background.
In the briefing, he introduced the reporters to the company’s organisational structure. The delegation was also brought to tour the sections in the compound such as the printing machine area and the Editorial Section where they took a closer look at the work sequence and the staff’s roles and responsibilities.
Towards the end of the visit the delegation was taken into the archive room where Reggie briefly showed the group several pages of past newspapers. The group then posed together with the General Manager of Brunei Press and presented him with a souvenir as a token of appreciation.
The delegation is part of an annual exchange visit programme, one of the projects under the MoU between the Government of His Majesty and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with the Kingdom of Thailand in the field of Information and Broadcasting.
Through the programme, it is hoped that the visiting media personnel’s knowledge will increase by learning more about the publicity and promotional programmes of the respective host countries.
