BRUNEI Press Sdn Bhd yesterday celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with over a hundred of its staff and a festive gathering held at Millennium Restaurant in Beribi.

Among the invited guests were the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QAF Group, Albert Lau, as well as the Director (Non-Executive) of Brunei Press, Dato Yusoff Abdul Hamid, and spouse.

UEFA Euro contest receives over 21,000 entries

AN OVERWHELMING response of over 21,000 entries were received for the UEFA Euro 2016 ‘Guess the Semi-finalists’ contest organised by Brunei Press Sdn Bhd with its partners Setia Motors Sdn Bhd and Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd.

The contest, which began on June 10 and ended on June 24, gave readers of Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata a chance to win a Hyundai Creta 1.6 GLS Auto worth $28,000 (the grand prize), Hyundai goodie bags and food vouchers from McDonald’s amounting to $3,000 in total. Read more

CDD inks MoU with Brunei Press to promote education

The MoU was signed by Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Nawi, the Director of Curriculum Development on behalf of the Ministry of Education (MoE), witnessed by Acting Senior Special Duties Officer at the CDD, Hajah Badriah binti Haji Saidin, while Brunei Press was represented by General Manager, Reggie See, witnessed by Senior Finance and Operations Manager Suzie Houng.

THE Curriculum Development Department (CDD), Ministry of Education (MoE) and Brunei Press Sdn Bhd yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in publishing the Education and Minda Bestari columns to help students to enhance their skills in answering examination questions.

Fitness Zone’s She Runs 2016 Dream Team yesterday paid tribute to the generous sponsors, supporters, partners, volunteers and individuals who played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the recent all-women event.

THE curtains on the four-day Kuala Lumpur International Hijab Fair (KLIHF) was officially raised yesterday by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Siti Radhiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Wahidah Widadul Bolqiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof, who were the guests of honour at the opening ceremony.

This is the third year and fifth-time running of the KLIHF after notching success last year with total sales collection from the 150 participating vendors reaching RM6.3 million. Read more

A GROUP of twenty students and two teachers, from Temasek Secondary School (TMS) in Singapore, paid a visit to the Brunei Press Sdn Bhd offices in Beribi, yesterday.

The visitors were given a briefing by Reggie See, General Manager of Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, on the history of the Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata, the two newspapers which are published by the company.

Among the discussed topics were the editorial workflow and the process of newspaper production, with editorial staff members on hand to answer questions related to their fields. Read more

POLITEKNIK Brunei concluded its 2nd International Symposium on Innovative Teaching and Learning yesterday at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (PAPRSB IHS), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

A total of 189 participants, comprising those from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Students Affairs Division of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) and representatives from primary and secondary schools, attended the two-day symposium that included lecturers from Politeknik Brunei and PAPRSB IHS, UBD. BRUNEI Press emerged champions at the 64th Anniversary Information Department Netball Championship after enjoying an unbeaten run in the entire competition, at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium Sports Hall of the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarter yesterday.

Played in a round robin format, Brunei Press accumulated a total of 15 points with five victories out of five, with the Prime Minister’s Office taking the runners-up spot after notching nine points with their only loss coming against the eventual champions. Read more
